Wazimap, from the Xhosa word ulwazi for knowledge, is a joint project by Media Monitoring Africa and Code for South Africa promoting the democratisation of information by providing the general public easy access to South African census and elections data. This includes detailed demographics and election results for all areas in South Africa, ranging from national to ward level. It also includes data such as age, income, household goods, employment, toilets, water and other service delivery details across the country as sourced from the 2011 Census, and makes the information accessible to the public.
